You sit down at 8am with a plan.
The coffee's still hot and the laptop's open, and today is the day you finally finish the thing.
At 8:06 a client messages with a "quick question."
At 8:19 you remember the invoice you meant to send on Tuesday.
By 9:30 you've started four things and finished none of them.
And the worst part isn't the interruptions. It's the restart. Every time you come back, you spend 20 minutes working out where you were, and then the next interruption arrives before you've done anything.
Most productivity advice assumes you get a clean three-hour block. You don't. You get bursts. Twenty minutes here, 35 minutes there, ten minutes in the car before pickup.
So the advice doesn't work, and you blame yourself.
It was never you. The advice was built for a different brain and a different life.
